Functionality Cookies

These cookies allow our website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features. They may also be used to provide services you have requested, such as watching a video or commenting on a blog.

We set one:

• currency, which remembers the currency you chose to see prices in, so the pricing page does not go back to guessing from your location on every visit

Analytics

We measure how kirokuforms.com is used, so we can tell which pages help and which do not. The tool we use for it is VeritaMetrics, and it sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It counts a page view server-side from the request, so there is no analytics cookie on this site to accept or refuse.

A KirokuForms form embedded in somebody else's website sets no cookies at all. Our form script writes one thing to a visitor's browser, and only where the form is set to open as a popup: a local storage entry named kiroku:popup: followed by the form's id, holding when that popup was last shown and whether it was already answered, so it does not reopen on every page. Local storage is not a cookie and the entry is never sent to us.

If you embed our forms on your site, the section below is what you need to tell your own visitors about, and your privacy policy is where it belongs.

Our customers can set an embedded form to open as a popup. Where they have, our script runs on their pages and watches for the moment they chose. This section is the short version; our Privacy Policy carries the full description.

What it watches

Only what the form's owner switched on: your pointer moving toward the top of the window, a tab switch, scroll depth, a click on a particular thing, part of the page coming into view, a set time passing, or a stretch with no activity. It reads none of what you type until you choose to submit, and sees nothing outside the page it is running on.

What it sends us

Three counts: that a popup was shown (popup_shown), that someone filled in the form it offered (popup_converted), and that someone closed it without filling it in (popup_declined). Each carries the form's id, what opened it, the page address, and the address you arrived from. None carries your name, your email address, or anything you typed.

How your consent choice is honoured

We show no cookie banner of our own, because a second banner on a site that already has one is worse for you than either alone. We read the answer you gave that site's own banner instead. Its owner tells us where the banner keeps that answer: in a cookie, in browser storage, on the page itself, or in the site's Google consent settings. If the answer is no, the popup still opens and still works, and none of the three counts is sent. If the site has no cookie banner at all, there is nothing for us to read and the counts above are still sent.

How to withdraw

Change your answer in that site's own cookie banner. We re-read it about once a second, so a change to no takes effect during your visit rather than on your next one: the script drops every listener, cancels its timers, and sends nothing further. Blocking cookies and site data for the site also clears the stored entry described above.

Form views are counted separately

Our script also counts once each time one of our forms loads, so its owner can see how many people reached it. That count carries the page address, the address you arrived from, your browser's user-agent string, the network portion of your IP address (the last part is cut off before the count is stored), and the country, region and city our hosting provider resolves at its edge. The consent answer above does not govern it, because the count goes out as the form starts loading, before we know what that setting says. Our Privacy Policy says how long those counts are kept.

One other party sets cookies through this site: Stripe, which handles subscription payments. When you start a checkout you are on a Stripe page, and the cookies it sets there are Stripe's, used to process the payment and to detect fraud. Stripe's own cookie notice covers them. We never receive or store your card number.

We load no advertising network, no social media pixel, and no third-party analytics that sets a cookie.

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings preferences. However, if you limit the ability of websites to set cookies, you may worsen your overall user experience and/or lose access to certain functions.

We show no cookie banner on kirokuforms.com and there is no consent control to click, because there is nothing on this site to consent to: every cookie listed above is one the site needs to sign you in, keep that session safe, or remember the currency you picked, and our analytics sets none.
