What Slack does with your responses

When somebody completes the form, your channel gets a message with the form name, the answers, the time it arrived, and two buttons: Approve and Reject.
- Up to ten answers are shown, two to a row. A form with more than ten questions posts the first ten and keeps the rest in KirokuForms.
- An answer somebody left blank shows as empty rather than disappearing.
- The message carries the start of the submission id, so you can find the full response in the dashboard.
- Pressing Approve or Reject records the decision and rewrites the message to show it, with the name of the person in Slack who pressed it.
Nothing to pair up
Slack receives the answers as they were filled in, so there are no columns to match and nothing to configure per field.
- The channel is set once for your account. Every form that posts to Slack posts to the same channel.
- The bot has to be a member of that channel. Slack will not let it post to a channel it has not been invited to.
- Pick the channel from the list of your public channels. Nothing is posted until you choose one.
If the message does not show up
Your response is saved in KirokuForms before Slack is called, so a message that fails to post never loses it. We do not try to post it again.
- The usual causes are a bot that was never invited to the channel, a channel that was renamed or archived, and the app being removed from the workspace.
- The decision is never stuck in Slack: the same submission can be approved in the dashboard or from the approval email.
- Every button press is checked against Slack's own request signature before the decision is accepted, so a message somebody forwards elsewhere cannot decide for you.
Two minutes, start to finish
Nothing to install and nothing to copy. Slack asks you to approve the connection and shows you exactly what it can do.
- Open your form in KirokuForms, go to the Integrations tab and choose Slack.
- Press Add to Slack. Slack asks which workspace, and lists what KirokuForms will be able to do: post in the channel you choose, message a reviewer directly, and read the list of your public channels.
- You come back to the same page. Pick the channel from the list.
- Invite the bot to that channel, then send yourself a test response.
